The Part About Caffeine

If there's anything I've learned from this week, it's that caffeine is probably the worst thing you can ever give me. Which surprised me greatly, considering I usually have a tolerance for this sort of thing ... but I guess I just haven't been drinking it enough as of late. E gave me coffee on Monday morning and I was pretty much bouncing off of everything all day long. And on Monday, I got to be an extra in a thing for my Film School Friend ... so I was just sitting around all day, shaking my butt off in silence with my brain racing at about a million miles an hour. I swear ... I drank the coffee at 7:30 AM, and I was ON until probably about 6:30 PM, when I crashed super hard. Learned my lesson though: never, EVER drink E's coffee without eating breakfast of some sort.

But anyways, I learned my lesson not to let my photos pile up for two+ weeks, so here are the last four so far from this week:

August 12, 2013. Well, like I mentioned earlier, I did a extra thing with Film School Friend, and since it's a film thing, I'm under the assumption that I'm not allowed to post any pictures of anything, so this is what I took a picture of ... me and Film School Friend's converse! I've been wanting red ones for a while, and I had a gift card to Macy's, so I splurged!

... And, well, it's a great first item to start cosplaying with ... Tenth Doctor, here I come! ^_^

August 13, 2013. Well, let's be honest, this one was taken 25 minutes after midnight... Second time I've forgotten about my picture of the day :/ I hope I don't make it three by the time this year is over.

It was kind of funny: me and E were chatting away, cackling for quite a bit when *GASP* OMG I FORGOT MY PICTURE OF THE DAY. Literally rolled out of bed, sprinted to my bag and pulled my camera out to snap this one. It's pretty sweet. I rather enjoy the silhouettes of our stuff against the light. E is in the bottom corner, but you can't see her, which I'm sure she's happy about, but what I really love is just the light. That set up is pretty much all I need in life.

August 14, 2013. Well, thought I'd take a funny-ish picture. This is my computer tweakin' out. Every now and then, my screen'll do this, much to E's amusement. It usually fixes itself in a few seconds, so it actually ends up being pretty entertaining and not as bad as it looks.

August 15, 2013. Feast of the Assumption. Holy Day of Obligation. Had to go to a different church than I usually do because I got off work late. It was a bi-lingual mass, which was always fun, but, unfortunately meant that I couldn't understand about half of the mass. Still, t'was a good mass ^_^

Anyways, other than being somehow motivated enough to post my pics, I've had a pretty successful day in thinking up ideas for future blogs, so hopefully I'll get on that soon and write some stuff that doesn't just center around my pictures, though that's what this thing has mostly become as of late. Hopefully I'll get some new, more interesting things up soon though!

The Part About the Middle of August

Damn! July kicked my butt. No two ways about it ... Who woulda thought my slump would come 200 days in. It's kinda like: "Get yourself together Tiff, you're mostly done with this thing. FINISH STRONG!" Haha. Yeah, well, at the very least, I haven't given up completely. I figure I'll take all the pictures and then never put them up until next year or something. Real classic Tiffany stuff. >.<

Anyways, here goes for the past couple weeks:

July 24, 2013. Photo response to July 22. I was a little surprised I got this done in less than two days. But I liked it a lot in the end ^_^

July 25, 2013. So... July 25 apparently is Jesus's half birthday =P. But E's production at Disney decided to actually celebrate Christmas in July, so they had a Christmas party! But she doesn't own an ugly Christmas sweater. Thus ... do what Disney-people do best, and get creative. So we did just that. And she went as a present, and now her present is here for the interwebs to see and gleefully giggle over.

.... that sounds like a euphemism for something. crap. haha!

July 26, 2013. Haven't done portraits for a while, so I thought I'd have a little fun. Ended up doing a portrait of the 9th (shown above), the 10th, 11th, Amy Pond, Clara, Sherlock, and then 10 again. Does anyone see a trend here? :D

July 27, 2013. So, E decided that we had to go to a Medieval Times show, especially because it appeared on LivingSocial. So she got us deals and we reserved a showing and we skedaddled on down to Anaheim and watched mostly attractive men swing deadly-looking weapons at each other for a while. It was pretty interesting, and a lot of fun, and a TON of food. I'd go back again!

July 28, 2013. I was adamant that E write; she was adamant that we get yummy treats. I had so much conviction ... until she mentioned that Pinkberry had a new cherry-flavored yogurt. Then it was all downhill from there. haha!

July 29, 2013. E and I went to see Pacific Rim. It was spectacular. And hilarious. And fun to watch. But mostly hilarious. We walked out laughing and giggling, and generally enjoyed the whole thing, though it was admittedly a movie with more plot holes than we would have liked. But, in all, definitely worth the price of admission, VERY cool to look at, and STILL a better story than Twilight.

July 30, 2013. Can't remember what exactly the issue was that day, but I really needed some Sprinkles in my life, so I demanded a run and E complied, and then there was a really pretty sunset, that I couldn't quite capture if I wanted to get any detail on the alley ... So, the alley way! I don't know why it caught my eye, but I still really like this moment.

July 31, 2013. Wednesday. Got up early to go to the Farmer's Market with my boss. Thus, sort of got up with the sun ... mostly got up with the sun streaming into the living room. Couldn't pass up the chance for the pattern. ^_^

August 1, 2013. Moments. Colors. Streaks in the sky.

Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?

August 2, 2013. Hey girrrl. E! That's what happens when you live with me when I do a Project 365 ... you get lotsa pictures of yourself over the course of the year. This was semi-payback for her bailing on our previously arranged going out plans. Too bad the picture turned out adorbs -_- ^_^

August 3, 2013. Took a quick trip down to San Diego to visit one of my friends who's going to be doing post-grad service in Philly. I've never really run around San Diego before, so it was a very cool weekend, and I'd LOVE to go back again soon. Apparently, there are hot air balloons that fly every night? Pretty sweet in my opinion.

August 4, 2013. Got brunch before heading back to Los Angeles. This was a really sweet place in the Historic Gas Lamp District that did brunch, lunch, dinner, and turned into a pretty sweet (semi-hipstery) bar at night. Best brunch I'd had in a while.

August 5, 2013. We have a BIG problem in our apartment, and I'm 100% sure it has nothing to do with shoes.

Found a swarm of ants that day. Ugh I shudder at the memory. It was not fun following the trail back and then piling up the shoes to make sure I got them all. Little buggers -_-

August 6, 2013. Look! There she is. The apartment is kind of getting messy because we're very aware of the fact that we will soon be moving...

August 7, 2013. Swung by school to see some people and get some yummy home-cooked dinner. Ended up helping out in the animation labs (kind of) and taking a quick trip down to Orange for the outlets and Disneyland for the fireworks. Most definitely not what I had expected initially... But a great day nonetheless.

August 8, 2013. One unfortunate thing that happened the day before: My crucifix broke while we were running around Disney! Yeah ... I lost the lower half of Jesus :/ Super sad. I've had this cross since my high school friend went to China, found this crucifix, had it engraved with my name, and gave it to me before I went to college. Super sad day :(

August 9, 2013. E tried to get away from my camera. It didn't work. I win everything!!

August 10, 2013. Had a girl's night out with E and my high school friend. Then ran into some former Gryphons! It was a fun, cute, pretty hipster bar. The Wellesbourne on Pico!

August 11, 2013. Went to a late-ish brunch with E after she woke up. After some discussion, we decided to walk up to Brentwood and go to the Coral Tree Cafe, which is and will always be delicious. Got my Eggs Benedict on, which was soooo yummy. I love me some poached eggs and hollandaise sauce.

Aaaand that's it folks! Haven't been in much trouble lately. Not really planning on getting in any soon. Gonna move soon, so that'll be fun, but that's still two weeks out, so ... yeah. Boring life for me!

The Part Where I've Got a Few Pictures I Haven't Put Up Yet ... Again

Yeah... I've been busy, once again. And therefore, slightly derelict in my duty to update this poor, poor bloggy. It must be so lonely and sad all the time.

July 14, 2013. Whale watching! With E, and Caitl, and Caitl's mother! We had a grand ol' time on the ocean! It was a really beautiful day :D

July 15, 2013. Laundry day. See you there. Underthings -- tumbling... <3 Dr. Horrible ^_^

July 16, 2013. Volleyball! 'twas loads and loads of fun.

Oh. And HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO MY OLDER (ELDERLY) BROTHER!! You're 26 years young, big one. Be proud! ^_^

July 17, 2013. The Goo Goo Dolls/ Matchbox 20 concert! It was fantastic; I know I always love the Goo Goo Dolls, but Matchbox 20 was a fantastic surprise!! They were great!

This was a sing-a-long encouraged by Johnny Rzeznik to his new song "Come to Me", which is literally the sweetest love song I've ever heard in my entire life. It was such a wonderful night out.

July 18, 2013. Saying goodbye to my wonderful Kairos Papa because he's going off to med school in Omaha!! We all went to Karaoke, and we all had a grand time!

July 19, 2013. Doing a watercolor version of Van Gogh's "Starry Night". Fun! but I learned it's really difficult to do a watercolor version of an oil painting. It's hard to make an Impressionist painting with a medium that just soaks together. But it's still really pretty!

July 20, 2013. Rifle shooting with my Brother and his GF! It was super fun! It's crazy how much power can be held in one tiny little machine. There's a little orange speck in the picture ... that's what we were shooting at. My brother was really good! Me? Not so much, but I hit a few, so that's exciting!

July 21, 2013. Soooooo since my brother, his girlfriend, and one of his friends were down in LA for just the weekend, and my brother's friend had never been in LA before, we decided to go big before they went home, and we went to DISNEYLAND!

Of course, I FAILED hard, and didn't charge my camera before we went out, sooooo this is my sad little picture of the day because I couldn't get the right exposure on the boys.  But we were all on the Buzz Lightyear ride when it broke down for a little bit, so we just sat around driving up our scores, and I tried to take a picture of everyone before my camera died. And then I failed. haha!

July 22, 2013. Reach for Me.

Doctor Who Fan Art part 2! Clara and the TARDIS on a cloud! I think Jenna Coleman (who plays Clara) said that was her favorite part of the season, the TARDIS on a cloud, so I thought, hey! I can do that. It's turning out nicely, and I'm having a ton of fun layering watercolors!

July 23, 2013. Silhouette. Here's one I haven't done so far, but here's E silhouetted in the bathroom light. Of all the picutres I've gotten of E this year, I really do like this one a lot!

The Part Where I've Been Pretty Terrible About Updating This Thing

My bad!

I've had some ideas for posts, so I should probably start drafting and stuff, but I haven't. Whoops. But ... at the very least, I'll put up my photos for this past week, and start writing another time.

July 8, 2013. Reflection in the TV. I can't remember what we were doing, but we were just goofing around, so I snapped that.

July 9, 2013. Schwinn! E's bike ^_^

July 10, 2013. I've been playing around with making Morse Code jewelry as of late. Right now, I've got two anklets made, both Doctor Who quotes, and ooohhhh do they make me happy =) The beads in frame make up the word "always" from one of my favorite quotes from the season 7 finale:

"You are always here to me. And I always listen, and I can always see you."

I think when I heard that line, I died a little inside just because it was such a perfect line... but so heartbreaking at the same time! Ughhh MOFFATTTT!!!

July 11, 2013. Had a little dinner and movie with T.Chow. We went to Despicable Me 2. It was wonderful. We failed and missed going to the Container Store, though... we'll have to go another time.

July 12, 2013. My Kairos Papa's Goodbye Party, because he's going off the Creighton to become Dr. Kairos Papa. Gawd I'm so proud of him! haha, there he is, dancing away!

July 13, 2013. Beads, beads, beads! If anyone wants a Morse Code quote, gimme a shout!

June 25, 2013. Outside of Caitl's apartment. I really liked the colors... I guess I probably should have cropped it a bit more, but my Project 365 is all about not doing anything to my pictures post-taking. It's always about the photographer and the moment, and not the type of camera you have.

July 5, 2013. LIONS. AT A SOUP PLANTATION!!!!!! Haha, me and Film School Friend and her roommate went to see The Heat and had food at Soup Plantation and there was an adorable little kid putting his toys up on the barrier between our tables. Soooo cute!

July 6, 2013. Shakespeare in the Park! Stayed over at FSF's apartment and then ended up spending the whole day with her and her roommate, and then Shakespeare in the Park! We watched Macbeth, a.k.a. (apparently, in the theatre world) "The Scottish Play", which was super fun! I want to go back and watch As You Like It later in the summer.

July 7, 2013. Okay, that sign is HUGE. it looks like it should be like ten feet away from the camera, but it's actually PAST my car. Yes, that sign is BIGGER than my car. Good LORD. It was funny. Or maybe it was only funny because E and I have been up for way to long...

Yeah, it's been busy, so all this is finally getting put up (sorry for the delay, Mom, promise I'm still alive down here in LA). It's been a hard week, with E being out of town... I've begun to realize that I'm not that great at sleeping in a huge empty apartment by myself. So sad :( haha I'm just glad she's back now!

Anyways, I'm tired, off to bed!
